How Much is a Cost of Uganda Safari
Uganda is one of the overlooked safari destinations in Africa yet it has the most animal diversity in the Africa. Visiting Uganda on a safari it always depends on the activities that you are looking at when in Uganda. Uganda’s tourist destinations have had a different cost however, the most expensive safari is a gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest or Mgahinga Forest National Park where a gorilla trekking permit will cost you $700 and here you are allowed to spend an hour with Mountain Gorillas taking pictures, videos and seeing how they behave, how they play among others. However there is another there is another beautiful experience with Mountain Gorillas called Gorilla Habituation and another activity yet so emotional that will bring you to catch feelings for these gentle giants. The cost of Gorilla Habituation is $1500 and it is done in Bwindi National Park where you join the rangers and other conservationists in the magical experience that will last up to 4hours while you are with these primates.
The above costs ($700 and $1500) are without transport and accommodation. However, for a gorilla trekking experience on a budget travel, one has to have $2000 per person for 3 days and 2 nights, while for a midrange traveler, has to look at $2500 per person, and a high end traveler has to look at $4000 per person for a period of 3 days and 2 nights and for gorilla habituation, experience a budget traveler has to prepare $3500 per person for 3 nights and 2 days, midrange traveler has to have $4500 and a high end traveler has to have $5500 per person for period of 3 nights and 2 days. The above costs will include gorilla permits, transportation to the park and from the park, accommodation, meals professional driver guide. There is also chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park and the chimpanzee trekking permit is $200, there is also chimpanzee habituation in Kibale National Park and the cost of the permit is $250 per permit per person. For chimpanzee trekking a budget traveler should have $1500, midrange $2000 and high end traveler should have $2500 for 3 days and 2 nights.
However if you are to visit other National Parks in Uganda for example, Kidepo Valley National Park, Murchison Falls National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park Uganda’s open savannah park, Rwenzori National Park, Mt. Elgon National Park, Semliki National Park and Lake Mburo National Park you need to have at least for a budget traveler you need to have $200 per day, midrange $350 and for the luxury traveler you need to have $500 per day and all costs are based on per person.
For one to enjoy the beauty of Uganda’s wildlife you need to spend at least 5 days and above and this will give you the best experience of the country’s natural wonders. Prepare for $3500 per person for budget travelers, $5000 per person for midrange and $7000 per person for luxury travelers.
Uganda’s National Parks are well categorized from budget, midrange and luxury. It is always a choice of the client to decide in advance which kind of safari activity are they interested in, which accommodation type are they comfortable with and also how long do they want their safari to run.
