Overview
Mgahinga National Park is the smallest protected area in the Southwestern Uganda but it is the main reason why you should visit Uganda. It is the only National Park in Uganda where you can track gorillas and golden monkeys, this is where the Silver meets Gold. You will meet other wildlife for example elephants, buffaloes, jackals, you will spot birdlife for example black kite, pin-tailed whydah, double-collared sun bird, whydah, speckled mouse bird, paradise flycatcher among others. This trip is preferred by people who have a tight schedule and they want to explore the endangered primates.

Tour Itinerary
In the early morning, you will meet our driver guide who will greet you and brief you about the safari. You will check-out of the hotel in Kampala and head to Mgahinga National Park, you will have your stopover at Kayabwe where the Equator crosses, Â you will take pictures when you are standing in the 2 hemispheres of the world (Southern and Northern Hemisphere). You will proceed, have a second stopover in Mbarara for lunch en-route, you will embark on your journey, and make sure you have your camera near to capture the beautiful hilly terrain of Kisoro, you will arrive at the park in the late evening, check-in the lodge, have dinner and overnight.
You will rise in the early morning, grab a cup of coffee/tea and head out to the park headquarters for briefing and then you will head to the forest with a ranger guide who will take you to the renowned Nyakagezi Gorilla Family Mgahinga. There is only one Habituated Gorilla family in Mgahinga available for trekking, you will track these gorillas for about 2-5 hours but you will spend 1 hour in their presence, you will be lucky to meet golden monkeys as well and now you will have killed 2 birds with one stone. You return to the lodge, have lunch and in the evening visit the Africa’s shortest tribe called Batwa/Pygmies. This tribe has been in the forest from time memorial and therefore they have many stories for you in stock. They will dance for you, sing for you, they will tell you how they used to hunt and make fire, they will demonstrate for you how they used to use local herbs. They also have craft shops where you can buy some souvenirs to take back home.
You will rise in the early morning, have a scrumptious breakfast, and get your luggage loaded in the van and head to Kampala. You will have lunch en-route in Mbarara and embark on your journey, you will arrive in Kampala in the evening hours and the driver will either drop you at the Airport or at the hotel depending on the time of your flight.
