Overview

5 days bird watching Uganda, you will go out to the most bird breeding places in Uganda, you will visit Mabamba swamp which is on Lake Victoria and it boasts in over 176 bird species including Shoebill stork, you will visit Lake Mburo National Park which has over 350 bird species, you will later head to Queen Elizabeth which is a home to over 620 bird species including the Albertine endemics.

Tour Itinerary

You will be picked up by the driver guide from Entebbe/Kampala and head to Mabamba on a boat to see birds like fly catchers, olive bellied sunbill, African fish Eagle, Shoe billed stork, Angola swallow, knob-billed duck among other birds. You will later travel to Lake Mburo, have a stopover at Kayabwe where the Equator passes, you will take pictures, and you will have lunch en-route in a descent restaurant and embark on your journey. You will arrive in the evening hours, check-in the lodge for dinner and overnight.

You will wake up in the morning, have a scrumptious breakfast and head to the bush for the morning session on a game drive, you will take a slow drive, looking out for the bird species like bateleur, grey crowned cranes, Coqui Francolin, brown chested lapwing, Rufous bellied heron, you will return to the lodge for lunch and later in the afternoon, you will go for the boat cruise. You will be in search of African Finfoot, papyrus gonolek, White winged swamp wabler, White-Bcaked Night heron. You will enjoy the sunset on the boat, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

You will have a lazy breakfast, check-out of the lodge and then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will arrive in the evening at the lodge, you check-in for dinner and overnight as you enjoy the cool breath from the Kazinga Channel which is a bridge of 2 lakes Edward and Gorge.

Queen Elizabeth boasts for over 600 bird species for example there are endemics, migratory, savannah and forest birds. You will head to Kasenyi  Peninsula  and you will be led by an experienced birder ranger who will help you to spot some birds like grey headed kingfisher, African Fish Eagle, Marabou stork, Emerald Cuckoo, pink backed pelicans, spur winged plover, long tailed cormorants, African skimmers, you will return to the lodge for lunch. You will later go for a boat cruise to spot other species like African Martial Eagles, Swamp Nightjar, African Crake, black bellied bustard, Yellow billed Oxpecker, White-browed Robin Chat, Egyptian geese, egrets, among other birds, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Arise in the morning, have a fantastic breakfast and check-out of the lodge and head to Kampala/Entebbe for a flight back home or to other destinations. You will have lunch en-route in Mbarara and then embark on your journey. You will arrive in the evening, and the driver guide will either drop you at the Airport or at the hotel and this will depend on the time of your flight.
