The last activity will be a visit to Africa’s second deepest lake- Lake Bunyonyi, one of the very few water lakes incredibly free from hippos, crocodiles and best for swimming.

Tour Itinerary

Pick up by your safari leader, briefing, and after drive to Murchison Falls National Park, the only park sitting in Northwestern Uganda and also the biggest of the 10 national parks the Pearl of Africa. You will have an en-route to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary primarily to track rhinos in their natural environment.

Rhino trekking is one of the most exciting experience here and also among exciting activities you can do in Uganda. Rhinos are endangered and not occasionally seen. The activity is done on foot but usually depending on the location of the rhinos you need a short drive from the sanctuary offices.

Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is home to other big mammals like the warthogs, bushbucks, waterbucks, impalas, leopards, several reptiles, and also has an impressive checklist of over 300 bird species that include the shoebill that can be tracked in the Lugogo swamp.

From Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to Murchison falls national park is about 2 hours’ drive via Kichumbanyobo gate.

Early breakfast and today’s activities range from morning game drive to boat cruise with experienced park guide. First, have an exciting morning game drive via the Northern Banks of Murchison Fall National Park, see kobs, waterbucks, hartebeest, buffaloes, giraffes and birds.

A morning game drive today will last 2-3 hours and later, have lunch and afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls to see Crocodiles, Hippos and birds especially the cormorants and the bee eaters. You will visit the top of the falls to experience the magical scenery of the water falls from the above.

You will leave Murchison Falls National Park early immediately after a cup of tea/coffee and drive for 6 hours up to Kibale National Park, including lunch stop in Fort Portal city. Proceed to the lodge you booked in Kibale forest to settle for dinner and overnight stay.

Enjoyable cup of tea/coffee early, after, get briefed at Kanyanchu Tourist Centre on chimpanzee tracking guidelines and regulations. Access to Kibale Forest starts at 8:00am after you have been allocated to a park guide, and takes 2 to 4 hours. Finding a chimp community guarantees you 1 full hour to observe chimpanzees, how they groom each other, taking photos then you walk back thereafter.

Lunch at leisure and after, Bigodi community will be your next area to visit in the afternoon. Enjoy walking in Bigodi community, sight a range of avifaunal species then relaxation at the lodge.

Meet your driver guide after breakfast, drive to Bwindi, and navigate via Ishasha Area of Queen Elizabeth. Have an optional mini-game drive in Ishasha sector with possible sightings of tree climbing lions; then later have lunch at Savanna Resort or Topi lodge before checking into the lodge for overnight stay in Bwindi National Park.

Have early breakfast and with packed lunch, bottle of water, get to park offices for briefing. 8:00am will be actual time to begin looking for mountain gorillas, 2-6 hours, and once you have found them, 1 hour will be must for you to observe these intelligent species. Walk back to the point you began trekking, get a gorilla trekking certificate and transfer to the lodge for relaxation.

In the evening, if there’s time, you can visit the Batwa villages for a cultural tour.

Early breakfast and then embark on 2 hours’ drive straight to Lake Bunyonyi. Activities to expect while in Lake Bunyonyi include boat ride to visit some or all of the 29 islands including the Punishment Island, Bwama island, Akempene Island, Leprosy island. as well as community walks, canoeing, swimming or rewinding at the shores.

Meet your driver guide early after breakfast; leave Kabale for Kampala, about 8 hours’ journey. Arrive at Igongo hotel early for lunch, museum tour and another stop at the Equator crossing in Mpigi.
