Your 8 days Uganda budget safari takes you to the country’s famous and renown National Parks that include Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Lake Mburo National Park. Activities to engage in include chimpanzee trekking, wildlife game viewing, boat cruise along the Kazinga channel, gorilla trekking, the Batwa cultural experience and many more. You will enjoy the thrill of encountering Uganda’s primates such as the playful chimpanzees and the endangered gentle giants. Other primates include L’Hoest’s monkey, blue monkey, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus, olive baboons and many more. Today you will be received by your driver guide at the airport, take you through a briefing about your safari expectations and immediately set off for your 5 hours’ drive to Kibale National Park having your lunch en-route in Fort Portal. After lunch you will proceed to Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru geographically believed to have formed as a result of stalagmites and stalactites. This is a cultural site to the Batoro tribe who have a strong cultural history and belief attached to it. You will enjoy its scenic caves with streams of waterfalls while you capture its historical and cultural perspective. Proceed to your lodge where you will check-in to have dinner and an overnight.
Have your morning breakfast served and report to the Park headquarters for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking rules and regulations. Proceed to the starting point of the trek led by Park rangers to embark on the search of a habituated troop of chimpanzees. Trekking chimpanzees lasts for about 3o minutes to 4 hours depending on their movements. Upon locating them, enjoy an hour in their presence and later on return to your lodge to have lunch. After lunch you will head off for a nature walk within Bigodi wetland. This jungle swamp is recognized for its extensive array of biodiversity among which are several mammals, primates and over 138 bird species. This nature walk lasts for 2 to 3 hours after which you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Grab Uganda’s tasty coffee, checkout to embark on your drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park with an en-route drive through the Park as you gaze at its abundant wildlife. Arrival at your lodge will be in the early afternoon to check-in, have lunch and relax as you wait to have an evening game drive through the Park’s golden savannah plains. After lunch you will head off for an evening game drive looking forward to encounter the grazers grab their day’s last mean as predators also wait to hunt them down. Animals to lookout for include herds of buffaloes, reedbucks, bushbucks, waterbucks, elephants, lions, warthogs, hippopotamuses find their way out to graze to mention but a few. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Today morning enjoy your breakfast and return to the jungle for a morning game drive to lookout for animals that you could have missed in your previous evening game drive. Watch out for nocturnal animals get back to their hide outs as early risers try to grab a meal before it heats up. Your eyes will be drawn away by animals like hyenas, innumerable Uganda kobs, bushbucks, reedbucks, elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippopotamuses and many more. Get back to the lodge for lunch after which you will report for an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga water channel. This water channel that connects Lake George to Lake Edward is a habitat as well as a water source to a variety of animals and vast array of bird species. You will witness the beauty of this water channel as beautified bird species roam around and as large herds of elephants, buffaloes and many others quench their thirst. Retire off the cruise back to your lodge to have dinner and an overnight.
Enjoy your morning breakfast and checkout to be driven further southwards to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the Ishasha sector where you will spot tree climbing lions lazing up between tree branches. You will spend some time clearly watching their nature and behaviors after which you will proceed to Bwindi where you will arrive in the afternoon for your lunch. After lunch you will have an entire evening relaxing at your lodge as you wait to meet the endangered mountain gorillas in the next morning. Dinner will be served and have an overnight stay.
Wake up to a hefty breakfast and be driven to the Park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking dos and don’ts. You be divided into groups of eight maximum and gorilla families will be allocated that you will go trekking after. Hit the Park’s misty forests with the guidance of ranger guides as you embark on the search of these gentle giants. This lasts for about 1 to 6 hours and having located them an hour will be allowed for you to closely watch them go by their routine duties. Return to the lodge to have lunch after which you will head off to encounter the Batwa who are known as the former forest keepers of the current Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will get to know about their ancient way of living as you are taken through the forest trail to their communities where you will meet medicinal elderly people. Enjoy their cultural performances before you return to your lodge to have dinner and an overnight.
Today enjoy your morning breakfast and set off for Lake Mburo National Park as you are driven through winding roads and rolling terraced hills that will catch your attention. Arrival will be in the afternoon to have your lunch at the lodge after which you will head off for an evening game drive as you look out for animals like giraffes, elephants, waterbucks, Burchell’s zebra, bushbucks, sitatungas, warthogs, topis, reedbucks, elands, impalas to mention but a few. Several bird species will as well be spotted like the brown-chested lapwing, black-bellied bustard, African scops owl and many more. Get back to your lodge to have dinner and an overnight.
Wakeup very early to have your breakfast and head off for a morning game drive as you roam through the Park’s trails in search of its hidden treasures. Animals that you will be looking out for include zebras, Uganda kobs, giraffes, herds of elands, warthogs, bushbucks and many more. The Park’s birdlife is worth capturing after which you will return back to your lodge to have lunch and later checkout to be driven back to Kampala. You will make a stopover at the equator line in Kayabwe to an experience where the earth is divided into two equal parts as you take countless pictures with your feet in the northern and southern hemispheres. There are craft shops around for those that will be interested in purchasing some souvenirs to carry with you back home. Arrival in the city center will be in the afternoon to either be dropped off at any place of your choice or to the airport to catch your flight back.
