This 5 days safari to Rwanda is such an extra ordinary trip that will take you to the top visited tourist destinations in Rwanda. This safari will focus on Volcanoes National Park which is the most visited destination since it harbors the endangered mountain gorillas, you will also visit Nyungwe Forest National Park which is known to as the Primate’s capital of Rwanda, the park has over 13 species of primates including black and white colobus, Angola colobus, golden monkeys, the park also offers one of a lifetime experience of canopy walk. The safari also entails visit the locals where you will visit the Ibyiwacu cultural village to be part of the Rwanda’s culture.

Tour Itinerary
On this day, our company representative will pick you either from the Airport or at a hotel, he will greet you, brief you about your safari in Rwanda then transfer to Kigali for a City tour. Kigali is the cleanest city in East Africa and in Africa, whilst you are in Kigali you will visit Genocide memorial center, visit local markets, the palace of the former Rwanda president, artisan shops and then embark on the journey to Nyungwe which is in the Southwestern part of Rwanda. This journey will take you about 5 hours driving through the beautiful a thousand rolling hills, you will enjoy lunch on the way, arrive in the park, check-in the lodge, for dinner and overnight.
Arise in the early morning and head to the park headquarters for a briefing about the trekking etiquettes, be allocated a chimpanzee family to track, you will be escorted by a ranger guide in the off-beaten paths of the thick Nyungwe forest. Trekking takes about 2 to 6 hours depending on how far the primates spent an overnight, you will be with chimpanzees for an hour, return to the lodge for lunch, relax and later go for canopy walk, one of the breathtaking experiences in Nyungwe. Here you will fly in the canopy of the forests, rubbing shoulders with monkeys and birds. Retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
On this day you will wake up on a lazy breakfast, check-out of the lodge and transfer to Volcanoes National Park driving by Lake Kivu, you will enjoy the beautiful sceneries, take pictures since this journey contains so many scenic view points, enjoy your lunch on the way and proceed to the park. After checking in to the lodge, you will go to visit the Twin Lakes that is Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo. These lakes have large concentration of birds, enjoy their magical view, sunset and if time allows you will do a boat cruise as well, return to the lodge for dinner overnight.
Greet your intestines with a scrumptious breakfast and head to the visitor information center where you will be briefed about the dos and don’ts while trekking, you will be allocated a gorilla family to track and then go with a ranger guide. Trekking usually takes about 2-6 hours depending on how far the gorillas spent their last night, as you are trekking, you will be enjoying the sweet melodies from birds, spend an hour with gorillas, take pictures and videos, return to the park information center for your trekking certificate. After lunch and relaxation you will go for a cultural tour at Ibyiwacu cultural village where you will taste the Rwandan culture through songs, food, names, dressing codes among others, and return to the lodge in the late evening for dinner.
Arise in the morning, enjoy your breakfast and go to Kinigi which is the guest information center, be briefed about the golden monkey trekking and head the bamboo forests where you will meet these beautiful monkeys. They are endangered and they can only be found in Rwanda, Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo. These monkeys are easily found, and trekking takes about 2-4 hours and after that, return to the lodge, get your lunch packed, check-out and transfer to Kigali for a departure flight thus marking the end of your safari.
