4 Days Uganda Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking safari takes you to Bwindi impenetrable National park that boasts with half of the world’s mountain gorilla population where you will be able to experience the gentle giants and other primates of the Bwindi forests carry-on their daily duties which is so breathtaking and fascinating. It’s with this safari that you will be able to visit Kibale Forest National Park the world’s primate capital harboring to about 13 primate species which is the highest of any Ugandan National park.

Tour Itinerary

Upon arrival, you will be received by our experienced driver guide who will take you through the safari’s itinerary and immediately set off for Bwindi impenetrable National Park. This is quite a long journey though an interesting one as you will have stop-overs for example at the Equator where you will take photos as you enjoy the two Hemispheres experience. Proceeding with a lunch en-route in Mbarara as you will enjoy scenic views of rolling hills of Kigezi, terraced tea estates, roadside markets, trading centers and many more. Arrival will be in the evening at a lodge in Bwindi will be in the evening for your dinner and a night stay.

Wake up early morning for your breakfast, meet your driver guide and transfer to the park headquarters with packed lunch for a briefing about the gorilla trekking rules and regulations. It’s at this point that you will be allocated the gorilla family to trek and immediately hit the Bwindi forests with the guidance of a ranger guide. Locating a gorilla family will take 1 to 6 hours depending on where they could have moved in search for their food. In the due process, you will encounter various bird species and primates for example blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, baboons, L’Hoests’ monkeys and many more. You will spend up to an hour with the gorilla family as you are entertained and later return to the lodge for freshening up and snacking and an overnight.

After your hefty breakfast in the early morning, check-out of the lodge at Bwindi impenetrable National Park to meet your driver guide who will immediately transfer you to Kibale National Park. This journey will take you 6 to 7 hours as you have magical views of tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, proceeding with a lunch en-route through Fort portal arriving in the evening at a lodge in Kibale National Park for your dinner and a night stay.

Wake-up very early in the morning to have your breakfast and immediately meet your driver guide who will drive you to Kanyanchu park headquarters for a briefing about the Chimpanzee trekking Dos and Don’ts. With the guidance of a ranger guide, you will start on the search of our closest cousins through forest trails as you encounter various bird types and animals for example bushbucks, giant forest hogs, Colobus monkeys, red-tailed and blue monkeys, baboons to mention but a few. Trekking will take you 1 to 6 hours depending on where the Chimpanzees could be located after which you will enjoy a magical hour with them as they carry on their normal duties. Return to the lodge for lunch and later check-out to catch your drive back to Kampala. Arrival at Kampala will be in the evening to either be dropped off at the airport or at a hotel for relaxation depending on the time of your flight.
