10 Days Mountain Rwenzori adventure is going to be a combined safari with Queen Elizabeth National Park, hiking to the highest point Margherita (5,109 m) on Mount Stanley through the mountain trails as you have accommodation in basically wooden huts along the trails. It’s here that you have to start thinking about the physical and visual test you will have to the top of Mount Stanley as you penetrate through five vegetation zones ranging from grassland zone to Afro-alpine moorland zone with varying altitudes. During your hike to the peak, Rivers, soggy areas and forests will be penetrated entailed with a variety of animal and bird species that will spice up your hike.

Upon arrival at Entebbe airport, you will be warmly received by our driver guide and immediately set off for Kasese which is about 6hours drive with a stopover at the Equator to update your gallery before embarking on your journey with a lunch en-route in Mbarara town where you could still make some shopping. Along your way, you will have beautiful scenic views of terraced landscapes, tea plantations and the overlooking views of Mountain Rwenzori as you get closer to Kasese. Register with the Rwenzori Mountaineering services and check-in at an accommodation facility for dinner and an overnight upon arrival.

It is at Nyakalengija the park’s headquarters that you will be briefed by the guides after your breakfast and going through a check-list of your mountain climbing equipment provided a possibility of hiring if lacking. You will then set off to Nyabitaba hut which is a 5 to 6 hours hike following River Mobuku and crossing to Muhoma River moving along steep slopes to a forest where you will encounter animals like giant forest Hogs, Elephants, Rwenzori Otta, Bushbucks and many more arriving at Nyabitaba hut that stands at 2,660m high for your dinner and a night stay.

Immediately proceed to John matte hut after your morning breakfast that stands at 3430m high through the Rwenzori bamboo forests to River Bujuku and River Mubuku taking you to about 6 to 7hours arriving at John Matte where you will have your overnight.

Embarking on your Mountain Rwenzori hike, you will cross river Bujuku to Lake Bujuku then proceed along the trail arriving at the Bujuku hut in the afternoon hours. You will relax a bit here as you stretch your muscles for the whole evening having your dinner and an overnight. It will take to about 3 to 5 hours hiking from John Matte hut to Bujuku hut that stands at an elevation of 3,962m.

It is here that you will move between Mount Baker and Mount Stanley through dense vegetation diverting to Elena hut that stands at 4,541m high where you will spend a night before climbing Mount Stanley.

You will make a climb to the Elena glacier and then to Stanley plateau with crampons to make it easy due to the ice, proceeding to the Margherita glacier and then to the summit. You will later slope to Elena hut as you pass by Kitandara Lake proceeding to Kitandara hut for your overnight stay.

You will climb from Lake Kitandara through extensively muddy trails encountering rock shelters where Kabamba valley starts. It’s at this point that you will be able to enjoy the panorama view of Mount Stanley, Savoy and Baker glaciers. You will then transcend through the Kabamba valley down to Guy Yaoman hut taking you about to 6hours and having a night stay as you relax.

You will later continue moving after your brunch to Guy Yeoman along very steep slopes to Mobuku River taking trails that pass through the famous Kichuchu rock shelters to the original route at Nyabitaba hut for your sleep-over.

After your morning meal, you will hike down to Nyakalengija which will take you around 2hours as you have a clear shot at several bird species, primates and mammals. Upon arrival at Nyakalengija, you will be picked up by our driver guide and set off to Kasese in a hotel for relaxation and a night stay.

After your morning breakfast, you will have a game drive in the savannah grasslands of Queen Elizabeth National Park as you enjoy a clear view of spectacular bird species and animals like Antelopes, Elephants, Hippopotamuses, Warthogs, Lions, Waterbucks to mention but a few. You will have a lunch en-route in Fort Portal as you proceed to Kampala through tea plantations, terraced landscapes and vast plains which are all eye catching. Arrival in Kampala will be in the evening or be transferred to Entebbe airport depending on the time of your flight.
